One product for the whole revenue loop

Measure what happened, understand why, act on the revenue that is about to leave, and plan what comes next — without stitching four vendors together and reconciling their answers by hand.

What does Bastle actually do?

Bastle is subscription analytics that covers the entire revenue loop in one product: it measures what happened with metrics, segmentation and alerts, answers why in plain English with Ask, acts on revenue that is leaving through dunning and cancellation insights, projects what comes next with forecasting and benchmarks, and hands the numbers to whoever needs them through investor data rooms, a REST API and an MCP server. All of it runs on one normalised billing history with definitions you control, and all of it is free while Bastle is in beta.

Understand

Know what happened, and why

The measurement layer. Every subscription metric calculated to your definitions, sliced the way you actually think about the business, with a plain-English way to interrogate any movement and see the records behind the answer.

Retain

Keep the revenue you already won

A large share of subscription churn is not a decision anyone made. It is an expired card, a failed retry, or a customer who would have stayed on a smaller plan if anyone had asked. These features work on revenue while it is still recoverable.

Plan

Decide what happens next

Projections built from live billing data rather than a spreadsheet somebody last touched in February — plus the context to judge whether your churn and growth are reasonable for your stage and category.

Not sure where to start? The metric glossary defines every number Bastle reports and shows the formula behind it, the free calculators work without an account, and the connector list tells you what syncs today versus what is planned.

If you are weighing options, read the honest comparisons — each one names what the alternative does better. If you would rather see the product than read about it, the live demo is the real application running on a generated dataset, no signup.

Frequently asked questions

Are all of these included, or are some of them paid add-ons?

Every feature on this page is included in the same workspace. Bastle is free while in beta — no card required, no per-feature pricing, no add-on tier. Dunning, cancellation surveys and forecasting are commonly sold as separate products elsewhere; in Bastle they read from the same billing history as the metrics, so a recovered payment or a saved subscription lands in your retention numbers without an export.

Which features are actually available today?

Everything listed on this page is live in the product today except Benchmarks and Alerts, which are marked roadmap and not available yet. Forecasting is shipped but still in beta, which means the surface can change. Roadmap work carries that label on the index, on its own page and in the navigation, so a planned capability is never presented as though it ships.

Do I have to set all of this up before I get anything useful?

No. Connect Stripe and the measurement features — metrics, segmentation and Ask — work immediately against your backfilled history with no configuration. Recover and Cancellation Insights stay switched off until you review them, because they send messages to your customers and that should be a deliberate decision rather than a default.

How is this different from buying an analytics tool, a dunning tool and a cancellation survey separately?

One dataset and one set of definitions. When three vendors each hold part of the picture, the recovered payment lives in the dunning tool, the churn reason lives in the survey tool, and neither reconciles with the revenue chart in the analytics tool. Bastle runs all three off the same normalised billing history, so questions that cross the boundary — which cancellation reason costs the most MRR, what share of last month's churn was involuntary — have a single answer instead of three exports and a spreadsheet.

What do I need to connect before any of this works?

A billing source. Connecting Stripe takes about two minutes over OAuth; the backfill then runs on its own, covering every charge, subscription, refund and coupon since your first customer, and how long it takes depends on how much history you have. Chargebee, Recurly, Braintree, Paddle, PayPal and the mobile app stores have connectors in beta, each carrying its own status on the integrations page. Anything without a native connector can be pushed in through the import API, where it appears alongside native sources in the same dashboards.

Can I change how a metric is calculated?

Yes, and the change applies to history. Churn definitions, delinquency windows, trial handling, refund treatment and coupon rules are configurable per workspace. Change one and Bastle recalculates every historical figure against the new rule, and every figure opens onto the formula and the records that produced it — which is usually enough to explain why a Bastle number differs from the one in Stripe. Two related things are on the roadmap and not built: a versioned record of who changed a definition and when, and an automated line-by-line variance view against your billing provider.
